  HOME AT LAST

I landed at 8am in Paris, ten pounds thinner, and in fabulous biking shape. Sadly, a longtime friend and colleague, Steve Bowman, had passed away of pancreatic cancer a few days before. So I went home, took a shower, packed a different suitcase, and headed right back to the airport to help with a staff ride that he was supposed to do this week. I finally made it home on Thursday.

On Saturday I went to the Velodrome for a competition and had a great race. With so many extra red blood cells after my weeks at altitude, I won the points race in the same category that a few weeks before I could barely keep up with. Red blood cells live for 120 days, so I hope that I can have a few more good races in coming weeks!
